SmartControl: CW Settings not sticking

My PC (at work) connects to my Flex6400 (at home) via SmartLink. My Maestro C (at work) connects to my PC (1 foot away) via SmartControl. This works nicely, for general stuff. I use the PC for the Pana-Fall, and the Maestro knobs.

Today, I decide to plug my VibroKeyer into the Maestro and found weird behaviour. I wonder if I'm missing something (despite reading the SmartControl section of the Maestro manual).

For instance, when I set the Sidetone level and the Pitch to my desired values:

I subsequently lose the Pitch setting when I transmit (even just a single dot), and Pitch reverts back to default 600 - the emitted sidetone on the PC is indeed 600Hz. But on the PC screen, the Pitch remains set at 850, apparently having no effect:

In addition, my CW speed setting is lost, and the Maestro internal keyer reverts back to 30WPM default.

The same thing happens when I configure CW keyer settings for my Vibrokeyer:

And one single dot later, everything reverts back to default (and totally screws up my keying):

(and although it should be an entirely separate topic, to check: I used the Maestro directly connected to my Flex6400, and these settings DO properly stick! However "Breakin" does not work; I have to use MOX. Separate issue, but confirms that settings do "stick" in other situations).

So to summarize: I find the SmartControl CW settings do not "stick". When I close the key, the Maestro does indeed trigger TX mode and I put out 100W RF. But my keying is all wrong for my VibroKeyer, it's too fast, and I dislike the sidetone pitch at 600Hz.

Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!
