FLEX-6600 with SPE 1K-FA

I have been operating this combination for several years. My shack is in my attic, and because of a roof leak, I had to disconnect all the cables and move the equipment. Now that I have moved everything back into position and connected the cables, I have only one problem. When I key the exciter, the amplifier doesn't follow suit. In all other ways, the SPE follows the 6600.

The two devices are connected by Dan Tassel's cable specifically made for this purpose. The USB is connected to the 6600, as designed. I am at a loss to figure this out. I've tried connecting the KC5PCB TX1 RCA connector to the FLEX and to the TX1 port on the SPE. No difference. I've disconnected that connector entirely and run an RCA cable from the exciter to the amp. No difference. Maybe I'm using the wrong ports?

Can anybody give me a bit of help with this? I'm hoping that there isn't something wrong with the SPE.

Thanks

John

go into settings/TX Band Settings and make sure TX1 is checked for each band you want to use the amp on.

Next, move the connection to TX2 and check TX2 for each band. I have seen two radios where the switching transistor in a 6500 has gone bad.
