Static IP Addresses in FlexRadio 6600M

Hi,

I have a Flex 6600m and I am connecting to a COX mesh network wifi. The Lan works well with the 6600m, the PGXL and the Tuner Genious XL.

The problem is getting the front panel of the 6600m to get the corectly assigned IP address.

The port forwad address in the router is 192.168.0.230. This is the IP address of the front panel. I want the IP address set to 192.168.0.230 for the Radio. I try to change the IP address in the radio and it will not take the .230 I have the advanced network settings set to .230

I have the portforwarding set in the cox wifi and it has picked the address 192.168.0.230 for the flexradio.(I cannot change that)

However it will not change the front Radio to .230.

When I input the gateway 192.168.0.1 it changes on the radio display to:

fe80::4275:c3ff.feec:781f%12

Whaterver that is?

I would like to remote in from my office and this will not work as is.

Any suggestons?

Thank Yoiu

change the front panel to a differen5 192.168.9.x IP and reboot radio. Then once that is done, do a DHCP reservation in your router for .230 to the radio MAC address. Set the radio to DHCP and reboot.

Hi Dave the cox router will not allow you to make a dhcp reservation.

wait. You mention the “COX” router has .230 port forwarded. Do you only have one router or two? (I’ve seen people with two).

You can change the front panel to 192.168.0.242 then reboot

Bot Cox router and radio then you should be able to set radio to .230 and reboot radio.

Reason O recommend reservations over static and s down the road the router gets changed to newer model which let’s say is 192.168.1.x. You’ll have issues accessing the radio.

I am using the wireless mesh netork from Cox.

This is what it says I changed the 230 to 242 and the 236 to 230 and rebooted. the front panel shows both ip addresses to be .230?

    Is .230 inboth places ok?

Looking at the first picture it showed a subnet mask of 255.255.255.248. That is not right.

If you have issues going forward, it may be beneficial to have someone with network experience come in and help you.
