I **** up a fixed IP address in SmartSDR now I can't connect
I was setting up a fixed IP address in SmartSDR. I obviously **** up.
When I attempt to start SmartSDR it says no radios are available. I can't go into setup to change it back to DHCP.
How can I update SmartSDR so I can change it back to DHCP.

Fixed. I factory reset the radio.

one reason I recommend DHCP reservations over static IPs.

Hi David,
I was just playing around. Luckily I had all the profiles backed up etc.
For some reason I lost the ability to remote to the rig via SmartLink. The test fails. I did something as I tore the station down and rack mounted everything. I need to trouble shoot my network. I'm using a UI Dream Machine SE and it was working prior to tearing everything down.
Something has changed and I need to figure it out.

is the Internet connection through a modem or combo modem/router?
I have seen plenty of times where people have two routers on their network and get into a double NAT situation. You should only have one router on the home network where it assigns IP addresses and ideally, should allow DHCP reservations.
Just had this Friday with a customer. They called their cable company and had the modem/router set to bridge mode and disable internal WiFi then connected all wired and wireless devices to their own router (what was the second router on the network.
One other thing to check, port forwarding rules in router. Make sure they are pointing to LAN IP of radio, especially if radio was disconnected from network for long period of time.

David,
Thanks for the idea. I'll check into it. The ISP has fiber coming into my shack then a black box which I believe to be their modem. From there it goes into the Dream Machine.
Luckily the owner of the ISP I use is my neighbor and a ham. He may be able to give me a hand if my trouble shooting is not successful.

hi Rich,
good luck. If they can have the ISP equipment in bridged mode, then using your router will usually have more settings available that you have control over adjusting.
Ask your neighbor if they are using CG-NAT, where they take one IP into a router that can then service a LOT customers off that IP. This is the problem some cell carriers such as T-Maybe are doing. I made the switch to Verizon 10 days ago and again have a public IP to my phone SmartLink again works and a bonus, I have coverage at my house!Keep us updated on your findings.
