My 80 meter band button quit working

Could use a bit more info… is this a button on a radio, amp, tuner, ant switch? A physical button or a button on a computer (Windows, Linux, Mac?) screen?

windows using smartsdr. If I select the 80m band button nothing happens other than the tuning flag disappears

You should be able to click on the icon in the lower left of SmartSDR and select add slice receiver. It is possible that the slice receiver is off screen. If that's the case, you should see in one corner or the other of the panadapter an arrow ( < > ) pointing to where the slice receiver is located relative to the current display. Left click and hold in the middle of the panadapter and drag in the opposite direction and the slice receiver should reappear.
