Does anyone use a NetGear JGS 524 switch?

My trusty NetGear GS 108 8 port gigabit switch seems to be failing more and more often. To diagnose why SmartSDR suddenly shuts down, I plugged my computer directly into my Flex 6400. It has been several hours, and no problems.

I will be away from my shack for a couple of days, so I will let it run. When I get home, if SmartSDR is still running, I will declare the problem to be with the GS 108.

I see that NetGear has a 10/100/1000 Mbit 24 port switch (JGS 524) for a reasonable price and was thinking of replacing the GS108 with it.

Does anyone have experience with this switch or know why it would be a good or bad choice?

    Hi Len

I just replaced an 8 port unmanaged switch in my radio equipment cabinet with this Netgear 24 port managed switch.

So far everything is working well with it. I switched to provide a mirror port for running WireShark and capture traffic between devices.
