The Flex radios do not have the ability to use a touch-screen external monitor.

James. I may have ask the wrong way. My PC in connected to my flex 6600M via a cat cable. the PC is connected to the internet. At one time i was able to bring up a program (????) maybe smart SDR on my PC that I could control my 6600M from the mouse and my PC and the flex would respond. And also change what was on the monitor. I may be confused as I am 78 years old.

No problem. You need to download SmartSDR for Windows from Flex Radio to your computer. Once it is installed you can operate your radio from your computerusing your mouse and keyboard. Anything you charge will only show on your pc, not on the radio itself. If you activate SmartControl on your 6600M, you can use the knobs and buttons on the radio and it will show on your computer screen while you are using SmartSDR on your computer.
Maybe this is what you are thinking about?

Bear in mind that, if you so desire, the 6600M operates well without a computer. You can plug a large monitor into the radio’s HDMI connector. Between the radio’s knobs and buttons and its front panel touch screen menu, you can make just about any adjustment you could make with SmartSDR. The disadvantage is that you would need a computer with SmartSDR to use third party programs, such as to operate FT8.

Ok. did get Smart SDR to show up on my PC. But it is not following the radio. i.e. Flex says 7.192 and the smart sdr on the PC says 7.175. When I change the Freq on the radio Sm SDR does not follow?>?

You are operating in MultiFlex. The 6600M and the PC SmartSDR are two separate radios.
If you want the 6600M front panel and the PC to be the same radio, and thus a change on one will show as a change on the other, you need to change to SmartControl on the 6600M:
- Select Menu» Switch Radio
The front panel will disconnect, and a radio picker panel will appear. Select the radio and click on "Connect".
Select the firmware version you are running. This is the version without upload or download arrows.
If you select the current firmware, two buttons will appear, "Run" and "Smart Control." Click on "Run" for a stand-alone radio. Click on "SmartControl" to use the 6600M front panel to control your PC Smart SDR.
