I thought maybe it was the windows system, so I fired up my mac after resetting the radio.. same issue.

It looks like the UDP packets are not getting through. I would try connecting the radio directly to the computer (no switches, routers, etc). If that fixes it, then you know that a piece of network gear is the culprit.
If that does not fix it, then do an export of your profiles and perform a factory reset. Once the reset is done, try again before importing your profiles (to see if it might be a corrupt profile). If the reset fixes it, import your profiles. if the import breaks it again, then you likely have a corrupt profile. If the profile import does not cause issues, then you are good to go.
If nothing works, then it is time for a helpdesk ticket.

update.. so I got the radio fixed.. Thank you Tim at the helpdesk.. And I have been able to recreate the issue. In my case my network is a bit different then most I suspect.
Basically I have two locations
Home = ISP, Wifi, Network (ubiquity network gear)
35 meters away Shop = Also ubiquity network gear, wifi, etc….
The key here is it’s not “hardwired” together.. I am using a UBB or Ubiquity Building to Building Bridge
There is the issue, working at the shop, hardwired in no issues… if I work from the house, from a computer perspective it’s also hardwired accept the bridge I can recreate the issue.
Now the question is how do I fix it?? Whats odd, this only happens on the windows laptop, it does not happen with the Apple iPad connected wifi.
Thoughts?

Opened a ticket, Tim helped and the issue is resolved.
I can recreate the issue and it looks like a network issue.
Unique situation here I think:
Home = Main network, WiFi, ISP, etc… Ubiquiti gear
Shop = Radio, network, WiFi… the shop is 30 meters away from home, the network is “bridged” together with ubiquiti UBB (Building to Building Bridge) and there in lies the issue.
I can operate from the shop, hardwired without issue… I attempt to do the same from the house and the issue happens.
Not sure how to get around this, I’d like to operate from the house.
Thoughts?
Thanks

So the issue is back, computer and radio are on the same switch (both operating from the shop) and the radio is back to before and I can not get it reset. Help desk ticket is still opened. I have done the complete resets of the radio now 4 times this go around and the issue is still there.

update… the radio is back, this time I uninstalled all of SmartSDR from the windows system, complete uninstall… then reinstalled as new, then reset the radio as instructed and it’s back.

I had the exact same problem with my 6600M working remotely while camping last night .
I could connect to the radio just fine but I couldn't tune, no sound and no waterfall .
I even tried a VPN to my house which normally works but had the same effect.
Another thing that was odd was I had been logged out of SmartLink everywhere and had to re-log in.
I tried connecting with different cell providers also all with the same effect.

I just tried again with the exact same network connection and everything is working fine this morning..., so something was definitely up yesterday .
Looking at network analysis last night I'd connect to the radio but zero packets were being sent back and forth.
To be clear I did not reset anything or change anything. And when I logged back into Smart Link that made no difference.

@dlwarnberg could be firewall software on PC blocking the UDP traffic. As you mentioned, uninstall SmartSDR, reboot, then reinstall. This should create proper firewall rules in PC.

Other thought, when it happens check IP address of the radio and PC to ensure they are on the same subnet. I’ve seen people extend their network to outbuildings by using routers, causing two DHCP servers to be on the network. The can wreak havoc.

Hi David (wo2x)… I'm a little gun shy to try again to be honest. I have the radio working now. The only piece of equipment that makes me suspicious is the ubiquity UBB (Building to Building bridge).. I have verified that when I am remote (i.e. PC at the house) and the Radio is in the shop I am on the same network.. the way this is all setup from a network perspective it's all one network. I have been investigating but am not seeing anything that would cause this condition.

to describe it, from a network perspective it looks like a switch connected to another switch, in my case one switch is in the house where the cable modem ISP is and the other switch is in the shop.. the connection between them is the bridge (not a physical cable)

is the ISP supplied device a modem or combo modem/router? Do you also have your own router?
Either the PC and radio are being assigned IPs on different networks or something is blocking the network traffic. If it happens again, have someone check your network setup. 99% of these issues turn out to be a network or firewall configuration issue.

Thanks Dave… So I purchased my own Ubiquiti Modem (spectrums cable modems are ****, usually rebuilt), it's separate from the Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro (router, firewall, etc). But after digging into this whole setup I may have found the issue. By default the WiFi access points (one in shop one in house) attempt to MESH, and they are but it's an extremely poor signal. I'd bet the traffic from the laptop to Radio attempted to use the MESH network rather then the bridge. Going to "unmesh" the network, forcing traffic to go over the Bridge and double check that the radio and the computer are on the same network.

make sure the mesh system is in bridge mode along with the ISP supplied device. You only want one DHCP server on the network (router, in your case Dream Machine).
Both my fiber gateway from ISP and Netgear Mesh needed to be set to bridge mode as I have an Omada router between the fiber gateway and main mesh unit.

Thank you again David…. So I took it a step further just to get it back working.. direct connect between radio and computer, full uninstall and reinstall of SmartSDR, tuned of any and all firewall software and antivirus software. Rebooted without wireless turned on… full reset of the radio… I am exactly where I was, no waterfall.. wondering now if I should have traded in my 6500 for this 6600? 😡
