version 3.7.4 Slice on wrong Side Band and distorted Audio
I upgraded from 3.7.3 to 3.7.4 when it came out and I have had two instances that the Slice was on the wrong side of center for LSB and Audio was distorted.
Switching between LSB and USB made no difference on the slice or the Distorted Audio, Audio sounded like it was inverted or something.
I did a Hard reset after it did it the First time and only imported my important Profiles back in I did NOT import the Preferences back in. But it did it again this morning when I brought SmartSDR up for a HF NET.
When this happens I have to Turn off the Main power to the Radio (Remote OFF/ON doesn't help it) or do a Hard reset to get the Radio back to normal operation.
I down graded to 3.7.3 which ran great before I put 3.7.4 on so I'll see if it comes back or not.
I know 3.7.4 was supposed to ONLY have Maestro C updates but in Anticipation of receiving my Maestro C I installed it.
I will do a Hard Reset on 3.7.3 and import my 3.7.3 Profiles so incase I have a corrupt Profile in 3.7.4 it won't affect 3.7.3 for a test.
I already submitted a Help desk ticket

Before I had to send my 6600M to the Flex Radio hospital, I didn't have any issues like you are describing running 3.7.4. The updates in 3.7.4 should not cause the problem you are describing. Maybe, something got corrupted when your settings were picked up during the installation of 3.7.4.

Hey Bret, what happens if you select one of the filter choices? Does that bring it back to the correct side of the carrier for the sideband that you are on?

Thank Trucker but as I said I did a Hard Reset after the first time it did it so it wasn't a corrupt Profile.
Since 2011 when I first got the 6700 I have always done a Hard Reset soon after install after a update just to flush the **** out of it. So far 3.7.3 has ran flawlessly and when I import my Profiles I never import my Preferences which is the Existing settings not included in the Profiles.

Hi Len, I never tried that, I'll reload 3.7.4 after using it this evening and see how it works tomorrow.
Good info.

Sounds good. Of course if you re-load 3.7.4, the problem won't happen... :- )

Yep for sure but that's OK too

I know this doesnt help, but the issue is not the radio or 3.7.4. Ive loaded the new stuff on both my 6500's. And both run just as smooth as they did under dot 3. Now i do not save and reload old profiles. I keep things very simple. I only have a mic profile but could adjust those settings from memory. I have only seen weirdnesd from not doing a cold restart. Ive loaded every version since 3.1.7 i think it was and that version was only up for one day before a bug was found and they came out with 3.1.8... not had a lot of issues. But when ive reloaded profiles id seen the effect like you have. Really wierd stuff. I prefer to manually change modes reminds me of how radio was 10 years ago... keep me sharp fixing things when i forget to change something. Ha. K0dd
