FT8 confusion with numerous slices

Hi all

While using the 6700 over the past few days I started wondering about something I'm seeing.

I'm running 4 Slices all with the identical settings on the same frequencies.

Running WSJT-x v2.6.1 each slice often has different stations showing up in different order the times are all the same, sometimes there might be a 1 dB difference and a color difference.

My ADIF FILE rescan correct on all the WSJT x and the colors are verified all the same on settings. dbm signal on all Slices are the same as well.

Only item I can figure is a timing issue on the decodes from Radio to computer via my LAN connection.

It will show up with 2 slices as well. Has anyone else looked into this???

Thanks

Ian

Are all slices on the same SCU (RX Antenna)?

If not, different RX antennas will have different RX results.

Same RX Antenna with the same signal in DBM with all Slices.

Puzzling issue and I'm just curious if it's just timing.

    This sounds correct.

This is how WSJT and Windows process the data as received and it is possible, that WSJT, all different 4 copies, are processing them in different order. To be sure, it isn't a radio thing, but more a Windows thing as Windows is not a real time operating system (but, it sure is fast).

It is called a preemptive operating system. It does 1 thing at a time. This is why you are seeing slightly different results.

    Thanks Mike

Makes sense it always looked like some type of timing issue.
