Transverter Question - 6500

Hello. I am very new to Flex. I have a transverter for 2m which works on RF sensing. I have plugged this into the transverter port on my 6500.

Ideally I would like to be able to have a panadaptor for monitoring 2m and also one for certain HF bands. However, if I select the transverter on one panadator, it changes it on the other.

So my questions are - 1) should I be able to do this and what am I missing? and 2) if not I guess I could achieve it by using ant 2 - but then I won't have the correct frequency displyed so is there a work around for that?

Many thanks in advance.

The 6500 only has one Spectral Capture Unit (SCU), so on the receive side, you get ANT 1 or ANT2 or XVTA or RXA at any given time. Changing one panadapter's receive antenna changes the other panadapter to the same antenna, so the ANT2 trick won't work.

The 6600 and 6700 have two SCUs, so you could have one panadapter on the transverter and the other panadapter on any band you like, including another transverter.

The frequency display is driven by the XVTR settings, not by the antenna port. This means that ant port that you plug a transverter into can be made to work on receive. I would never plug my transverter into ANT1 or ANT2 because it would be very easy to put a transverter-destroying amount of power through it.

You're welcome! The confusing thing is that while you get multiple receivers (slices) per SCU, there is only one antenna port active at a time.
