Whitelist access control for remote access

Given the vulnerabilities of cloud-based services to hacking and to routine faults with libraries as we have seen recently, it would be lovely if we could administer addresses and remotely login information into SmartSDR/SmartLink and have secure access with cloud-based dependence.
Given the recent outage, and the world situation such as it is, having some independence would be fruitful. iCOM does it with their RS-BA1 software and it performs well.
I wonder if others have interest in such an "untethered" capability for remote operation of their station?

In the last 7 days, my 6400 has been targeted by entities from Russian, Germany and other countries. I don’t know how they got network information about my Flex Radio specifically. None of my other devices on the LAN were attacked. Fortunately, my ISP blocked the intrusions but I would like to know about how I can be more protected in case the attackers find a way in. Also, I would like to learn why it is only the Flex Radio. And if SmartLink was recently compromised. Dan WA1QZX
