TGXL Locked up.

Recently purchased a new TGXL and PGXL. Tuner Genius first day after being in service for a couple hours locked up. Had to do the hard Reboot/Reset. Then I updated it to latest Firmware. Has worked just fine till yesterday when the Display Screen and Utility locked up. This time I just removed power to the TGXL and re-applied. Now working fine again. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Also I would like to know on the Tuner Genius XL Utility, Under Device Settings/Genius Integration.....What goes on when selecting Power Genius ENABLED, BIND BOTH. Running Flex 6700, TGXL and PGXL....

Had a power glitch (DC power)

TGXL went black and fan(s?) went full speed.

Power cycle. TGXL is back online.

My 6600M did Reboot before I needed to power cycle.

This is the second time in a week that I had to power cycle the TGXL.

Perhaps some hardware power reset design issues?

Les, in all Flex station, Genius Integration should have Power Genius unchecked.

Conny, we found with some power supplies the DC voltage comes up to full voltage slowly, causing the full speed fans. In my station, I use a zwest Mountain Rig Runner 4005i and Alinco DM-330MVT power supply. I run the voltage at 14.6 volts. The startup script in Node Red turns on the AC outlet for the power supply and waits 10 seconds before turning on DC ports on the 4005i for the tuner and Antenna Genius.

Exactly same issue with TGXL, solved by simply placing a delay contactor on the power supply unit. Apparently with larger powers supplied the voltage ramp is initially impeded by capacitor charging. The TGXL would lock up and fans got to full speed. All the devices in the shack loading the power supply during startup result in this behavior. An alternate solution is a on make delay. https://www.amazon.com/DROK-Automotive-Digital-Electric-Display/dp/B071XNY72Q
Just set it for a delay of 5 seconds when current is applied.

    Some of the details:

4O3A designed the TGXL to operate at 15-24vdc or more. Personally, I use a wall cube that runs at 18vdc.

If you run it at 13.8vDC you might find some startup issues.
