ACOM 700S Key-Out

Setting up an ACOM 7002 amp. The amp has the standard Key-In RCA plug to put it into transmit mode. There is a second Key-Out to send a control signal from the Amp to the transceiver to prevent transmitting until the amp is ready. The amp will work without making this connection. My question is if this connection is used in conjunction with the RCA TX REQ plug on the back of the Flex would it eliminate having to set the delay on the RCA TX1 and TX Delay settings on the TX tab in Radio Setup? The ACOM manual indicates the input cannot exceed 50 VDC (open circuit) and closed current is below 20ma.
