I am having problem with my VOX keeping the 6400 keyed using heil headset. To keep the 6400 key i must run the vox level as high a 40.

Hi Don... DAX is a Digital Audio interface, used to send audio from the radio to another app running on your PC or MAC (such as when you run FT-8 or another digital mode).

It has nothing to do with the level required to keep your VOX open. There is a VOX delay you might want to play with, if you are finding that it's not staying on long enough while you are speaking....

A VOX level of 40 doesn't sound all that bad, but it really depends upon the loudness and projection of your speaking voice -- and of course, position of the mic, etc.

I don't know, but maybe the Heil needs the extra 20db boost available from the Settings?

I was in the process of moving all of my radio gear around in the shack, and I hadn't gotten around to changing the cord on my footswitch. I've since gotten that done, yesterday. My VOX setting for close speaking my boom mic are 48 vox gain, and 16 delay. I'd adjust up the delay if I was rag chewing. But I want the mic to drop quick in pileups. Hate vox, so glad the foot switch is back... so I would say 40 isn't bad. DD

Well, i guess this has nothing to do with VOX Levels. I used no DAX until i started using Voicekeyer, this only works when you can mix MIC and VC into one DAX Channel.

Other than that i see no real difference.
