How do I resolve this error?

I see nothing wrong in device manager or the sounds control panel.

As I remember Windows is trying to assign a DAX channel as a default device. The DAX drivers will not operate as default devices. Go into windows sound settings and assign a speaker and a microphone input as the default devices. Then attempt the DAX installation. I had the same error with my Win 11 installation.

Thanks, but this seems to be the Tx stream. Rx is fine.

The default and communications device are both set to the PC Mic in the sound settings control panel and I can see no errors being reported in device manager.

I've tried re-running the VSP installer, and I've even nuked the entire installer and re-installed 3.4.23. It makes no difference

    Panic over!

I followed the procedure in Tim's note to re-install the DAX drivers.

That seems to have cured it.
