Solution to 6700 Overload

Options
I resently installed a homebrew Halfwave Endfed Antenna cut for 80M. In contrast to my Cushcraft R8 antenna, the endfed caused the 6700 to overload due to the very strong local AM signals, one of which exceeded +8dBm at the receiver input. The overload prevented using the endfed for receive on the lower HF bands. The solution was to insert a highpass filter in the 6700 receiver LOOP A. The filter with a cuttoff frequency of 2.6 MHz provides >40dB suppression of the AM signals. It is from RTL-SDR.com, available from amazon at a cost of $17. My measurements of S21 and S11 confirmed the specs of the filter.
