Force disconnect doesn't work

in SmartSDR for Mac

SmartSDR for Mac shows my 6500 already connected to my Mac and a force disconnect does not release the radio. A disconnect from SmartSDR for iOS has the same result. The radio needs to be power cycled to release it. This has happened once before. For reference, the radio was working and DAX appeared to have dropped (black waterfall) before the problem occurred.
