Smart Control and SmartSDR just doesn't seem to work well!!!!

I have put my 6400M in smartcontrol. And I also have SmartSDR active on my computer. And for some reason, when I change the frequency on Slice A to 40 meters, both the A and B slice is giving me 40 meters. For some reason I can't have one band on the A slice and one band on the B slice to work. And if I change the band on the B slice, the A automatically changes to that same band. If this is the way that SmartSDR works with SmartControl and SmartSDR, than it is not worth the time trying to get it to work. If I close out of Smartcontrol then the front panel will give me the different bands on both the A and B slice. Can anyone explain to me why this is happening?

Hi Mark... Are you running one panadapter or two? I believe to run on two different bands, you'll need slices on two different panadapters.

I don't run SmartControl, but on SmartSDR for Windows, when you open up a second slice, it's automatically created on the same panadapter as Slice A. Changes to 'band' are for each panadapter, so changing Slice B in this case would also change the band for Slice A.

If you want Slice B on a different band, you'd need to open up a 2nd panadapter, then select the band for it separately from the 1st one.

Thanks Don for the tips that you gave me. I have never tried the smart control before. I was always used to having the screen from the 6400M go to my computer monitor. I am new to using the computer version of SmartSDR.
