Midi control with a Rodecaster II Mixer/midi?

Hey y'all!

I have a rodecaster pro ii mixer hooked up, and it supports being a midi controller. So far, I've had no luck getting SSDR to recognize the controller at all. Is there something I'm missing here? Seems pretty straightforward, I've tried every compatibility option there, and I just get " waiting for controller". This is Mac OS Monterey on a Mac Pro. Latest version of SSDR from the app store.
