PGXL - Anan 7000 DLE MKII connection

Hello everyone,

I want to connect Anan 7000 DLE MKII to PGXL. Do you need a physical RS-232 serial port on your computer? I don't have one on my desktop. Maybe a USB-RS232 adapter will suffice? Please help.

FTDI chipset YSB to serial adapter from the PC to PG XL.

when you plug it in the PC it creates a com port. In Theris set up a com port to that port number, 9600 baud 8,n,1.

in the amp setup select Kenwood 2 CAT 9600 baud.

USB-RS232 will work just fine. Be sure to use genuine FTDI chip, setup Kenwood 1 Cat connection in the PGXL utility and a cat connection in thetis with the matching com port settings of your USB-232. Seamless operation. You still need a separate PTT line from the radio. This works with Tuner genius and antenna genius as well.

CAT will not work with the Antenna Genius. The AG uses Flex LAN, BCD Pin to Band, or Genius Series protocol.

Sorry Todd, your post got caught in the spam trap thingy. I tried to just release one to the thread, but it took them all. In any event, I fixed your profile so that the spam gizmo will leave you alone in the future.

Thanks you Dave for the clarification. I had not realized that . My AG is too far away from the computer.
