Trying to connect to Fldigi

I have been following the instructions in the Power SDR user manual and it seems the instructions do not work for connecting to Fldigi.

I suspect the smart cat is not connecting properly. Smart Cat seems to start when I open Power SDR. But the com port 4 in present in my device manager when the software is not active. Whether this should change when the smart SDR is activated in the device manager or not I do not know.

The device Manager shows

FlexRadio Virtual Serial Port (COM104)

FlexRadio Virtual Serial Port (COM4)

all the time.

However COM4 does not appear to make the connection with Fldigi Cat Control.

I'm not really sure what needs to happen if the instructions in the User Manual do not work.

Any help would be appreciated.

FLDigi has Radio files at "https://sourceforge.net/projects/fldigi/files/xmls/ "

If you haven't already done so you need to download and install the Radio Database file.

Be sure to use the FLEX radio tab on the left and Be sure to download the correct one for the slice your going to use. for Slice A use this one

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/fldigi/files/xmls/flex/SmartSDR_SliceA.xml/download

If your radio has 4 slices then you can use A,B,C,or D

If your radio has 2 slices then you use A, or B

If you have a 6700 then you can use any of them depending on the slice you want to use.

Oh, these should go into a FLDigi directory so you can remember where there at and you will need to manually move the XML files there as there is no Install for the xmls file.

From FLDigi Configuration settings you select up the Rig Description file at the location you saved them to. use the CAT (rigcat) PTT settings here are my settings for slice A Make sure you have a CAT port set up.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
