CW "sidetone" from BOTH rig and PC on LAN ?

Have I been asleep for the past few months? Perhaps not paying attention. I operate the 6400 via my LAN using CWX, the actual rig is two rooms away. I can now hear CW tones from both locations when I transmit. Am I wrong is thinking that until yesterday the CW "sidetone" was only coming from the LAN-connected PC and rig was silent (with "PC Audio" turned ON ) ? I am assuming that audio coming from a CW transmitting rig at a remote location could be very annoying and therefore there would be away to silence this ?

Hi Andy, If you are remote, there is an option to silence the audio from the rig.

If you are on the same LAN segment, as you would likely be in your situation, then this feature does not turn off the local sidetone. In your case, you would just need to turn down the speaker directly connected to the rig.

When I operate remotely, I normally turn off the speaker, even though I do have this option set. Asking my wife to turn down the audio from afar will give unpredictable results...

Thanks Len, my 6400 already has "mute local audio when remote" enabled. It is muted, except for when I send CW via CWX .

I guess I should simply keep the speakers connected directly to the rig at a low volume.
