Flex Radio and Satellite Communication

Options

Hi Group!

I'm looking at getting a Flex 6600 to replace my 6400M. One of the goals of this upgrade is to use the new 6600 for use with amateur satellites. I"m looking for any guidance on what the most common hardware configuration is currently being used on satellites and what the go-to satellites are right now. I currently run a Q5 multi-band transverter for the 6400M and plan to use this for TX on the satellites. I'm possibly eyeing another single-band Q5 to add a dedicated 144 MHz option for use on the second transverse port on the 6600.

To date myself a little bit, I was active on satellites in the early 2000s. The active satellites at the time were AO-27, UO-14, and even had a chance to work AO-40 before its failure.

Thanks in advance!

Chad
