Soundcard settings and Windows updates

Last week I did several Windows updates to my ham radio computer. Part of ham station here is two older Flex radios a Flex 5000a and Flex 3000 I use them a lot on digi modes because of the wide transmit bandwidth possible with these units.

And the last few days I had been noticing when in transmit some extra spikes or peaks on the spectrum displays of these radios.

With another radio monitoring while in TX I could faintly see this extra signal if I ran a good bit of power out.

I also noticed that with no power out I still see this extra signal on transmit. This got me to thinking maybe this is coming from

the soundcard and not the transmitter it self.

I opened my sound settings and went into properties of my soundcard and VAC`s and found that the advanced settings had been changed from

16bit 48000hz to 24bit XXXXXhz even the virtual audio cables I use were changed. After resetting everything to

16bit 48000hz I no longer have stray extra output signals.

Thought maybe this is something anyone using the FT or any digi mode might want to check.
