How can I get my CAT controls working again?

I was able to create and edit CAT ports, and use Winlink Express with VARA for several weeks in my V3.3.32 SmartSDR on Windows 10 and in a VMWare Fusion virtual machine. I worked my way up to COM10 and everything was fine, except the ports didn't persist between startups of SmartSDR. About a week ago, the CAT control quit working. The CAT program quit opening automatically and I'm having trouble editing, creating, and using the ports. I don't know what made it stop working.
Now, when I try to create the CAT port, it hangs or I receive an error about the VSP failing to create. If I try to edit a port I was previously able to use, I can sometimes save it, but I receive an error in Winlink saying it's unable to open the matching port.
I've reviewed a bunch of posts and I tried reverting to an older backup of the Windows VM, reinstalling SmartSDR, and repairing FlexVSPInstaller. I thought about a factory reset, but I don't see any problem on the Mac side (where I use WSJT-X) and I saw post with CAT problems where a reset was not recommended. Any ideas?

I submitted a help desk ticket and Ken Wells was able to step me through a process to clean up the mess I had made on the same day. My problem is solved.0
