FLEX-1500 communication issue

in FLEX Series (Legacy) Radios

I recently sold a flex 1500 to a fellow ham which,of,course was working fine when it left here and now the buyer is stating that he was able to get it to work a couple of times but that now it will not connect. Says it shows on the radio interface but it is greyed out.

Says he has tried different computers, different USB cables and both ver 2.7 and 2.8 of PowerSDR. I think it has something to do with his power supply and or power cable? Or possibly the speed of the USB port causing a communication error? Of course, I sold him the radio and want to either try to help him get it going or do what I got to do to make things right.

Wondering if someone may have some ideas as to what may be causing the issue and some different things to try?

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
