Amplifier Class

According to the PGXL manual, if you are running digital the amplifier class should be AB, however, it is showing AAB. I have the latest firmware and running a Flex 6700.

What mode is the radio in? By chance is it USB? That will set AAB.

What digital program? WSJT-X? If so, create a TCP CAT port in SmartSDR CAT. In WSJT-X setup/radio tab select Flex 6xxx and IP of 127.0.0.1:xxxx where xxxx is the port number you created in CAT for the slice. On the right side select Data/Pkt and Fake It.

You need Fake It or Split to work Fox/Hound mode on FT8, so that is why Fake It.

You were right on - pilot error - regarding the the mode set to USB. I had the TCP CAT port set up, however, I was wondering about the "select Data/Pkt and Fake It". I have as far as I can recall mode was set to none and Split Operation was also set to none. If I was using Fox/Hound I would then set Split Operation to Fake It. Would it make a difference leaving the Spilt Operation as Fake It all the time? I was wondering what effect having Mode sent to None instead of Data/Pkt?

There is no harm leaving Split on all the time. The radio TX frequency will change to keep the actual TX audio frequency between 1500 and 2000 Hz. This is done for older radios to eliminate possible second audio harmonic when transmitting. I've seen that when people overdrive the TX audio level on some radios.
