Maestro A failed to boot

My Maestro A failed to boot recently. It would get part way through the boot process and stop, indicating "Waiting on Hardware, Initialization (Y, K, YTS). I initially worked with Ken NM9P via the Trouble Desk, but after some tests Ken recommended I send it in for repair. FRS ended up replacing the internal battery pack which fixed the problem. Evidently the internal battery had overheated and expanded. Many thanks to Ken for his troubleshooting help, Djamal for repair work and excellent communications, and Cathy Clark in the shipping/receiving department. Fast turn around and repair cost was very reasonable.

If you own a Maestro (A model) do not leave it plugged in all the time. This suspect this is what caused the internal battery on my Maestro to expand and need replacing. I was told the Maestro A needs to be charged about every 4 weeks if it is not being used. The charge time should be about 12 hours using the Maestro power adapter.
