Assigning right speaker to "B" split

A friend brought up a problem he is having that I have experienced in the past. He is chasing CW DX and opens "B" VFO. He then sets the audio for A to middle, B to right speaker. Later he switches to simplex, but when he reopens "B" for the split operation, audio has been reset to center instead of returning to his desired setting with "B" going to the right speaker. Is there a way to have the Maestro remember this setting for split operation, or must it be reset every time? And, if the latter, it would be nice to have it remembered instead of reset (or have an optional switch for this behavior.)
Thanks in advance,
73, Duane AC5AA
