Will 4.8 .NET work vs. 4.6.2 .NET on Smartlink Connectivity Issue?

I noticed in looking for .NET updates that the latest version of of .NET is 4.8, though Flex talks about 4.6.2. I am guessing that as long as I have at least 4.6.2 installed, that will be OK for part of the fix for the Smartlink connectivity issue, am this correct? Not sure why Tim just speaks of 4.6.2. Comments?

4.8 is the latest and greatest... but is backwards compatible.
