Just FYI, You asked this question on the "Legacy" (Power SDR) radio area. You would want to ask this in the SmartSDR area..

Hi K5WSW, I think you're actually asking 2 questions here -- one is about the Microphone Gain adjustment and the other about setting compression. In SmartSDR, they are two different controls, but very close to each other.

If you have the 'panels' activated, they show up on the right side of SmartSDR. (just under the PC Audio controls in the top right corner). The one you want is the P/CW panel (yours may not be activated). To activate, just click on the P/CW button along the ****.

You should see a panel with level meters for Level and Compression, then under these, the controls for selecting the Mike profile, then a slider for mike gain (to the right of a selector for where the MIC input comes from). Below that is a button to turn the processor on and off, followed by a slider to select the level of compression you want (NOR, DX, DX+).

Thanks, Don. I can see that control you describe. Every control in the SmartSDR software is so clearly labeled except for the mike gain. I was actually looking for something that was labelled MIC GAIN.
