QUESTION: Should "Recent Discussions" sort the older threads (including announcements) by DATE/TIME?

QUESTION: is there a way to exclude the announcements from the list if they don't sort correctly?

Topics are sorted by date and time with the latest updates at the top, below the Announcements.

Announcement, which are a special class of topic are pinned to the top of the discussion list are are sorted separately.
