WSJTX Global Settings

One of Mike's recent videos on setting up Global Profiles prompted me to do just that. Have a number set up now, but wondering what might be the best setup to save in a Global Profile for WSJTX - FT8 etc. Not having any problems with it, but just wondering thru trial and error what others have the best settings for these modes?

One thing I recommend is to set up a separate Mic Profile for Digital modes. Name it "Digital" or "WSJT-X" or something like that.

Then associate it with the DIGU mode by selecting that Mic Profile when in DIGU mode.

(When you go back to SSB or AM, select the Mic Profile you prefer for that mode, and the radio will now remember the different profiles, and you won't need to keep changing things like MON, VOX, DAX, and other settings when you move between the modes.)

Then configure your Transmit Filter Low-Cut and High-Cut, turn on DAX, and set your MON level for something comfortable for when you are operating digital modes. (high enough to hear when you are transmitting, but soft enough to preserve your sanity.

Add to that a transmit Profile and TX Band Settings table that will set the power output level to your preferred default for using Digital Modes.
