Cutting out when on Wifi

There is an issue with the reception when I use my laptop with SmartSDR.
I'm using an i5 with 12gigs of RAM, and either an extender or straight to the Wifi Router.
Connected either way, randomly there will be blank or disconnected spaces in the reception where it can last up to 30 seconds and I have to ask the person I'm speaking with to repeat what they said. When the reception goes blank there is also a white noise.
I've slowed the waterfall down and all that but it doesn't seem to help either.
What might cause this?

Since no one has answered yet, I'll give it a try.
Since you are using WiFi for access, you will need to be very careful in your setup - even an extender will not necessarily fix issues you may be seeing, To begin with, if you really cannot use a wired connection, then at least try to use 5 GHz WiFi with a channel selection that avoids any local channel congestion. Avoid 2.4 GHz if you can - unless you live in a really remote area, it will be very congested. There are only three 2.4G channels. Any cell phone WiFi analyzer will help you visualize the local WiFi RF environment.
WiFi is a shared facility, and if some other device (yours or your neighbors) is on the same channel, you will wait and data WILL be dropped.
In the end, you may of course have some other issue, but look after these first, and then re-evaluate.

I had problems on my new mesh network with wireless to the radio. As soon as I put it on it's own network/wireless, it works great.
