SmartSDR - Is transmit limited by frequency and mode?

I'm trying to set up SmartSDR 2.5.1 / 6400M for an oddball RTTY mode (for Clatternet on 40 m) - 850 Hz shift M/S reversed. I can't use the normal RTTY mode, since it is LSB and automatically sets the mark and space frequencies based on that. I really need to use USB, since the TU I'm using doesn't have M/S reversal on transmit. I normally operate RTTY using either DAX or PC input and use PTT to key the radio. However, if I try to use USB or DIGU to get the M/S reversed, the PTT will key the radio, but no audio is transmitted although DAX shows the audio, SmartSDR doesn't. But, if I use either the SmartSDR MOX button or use VOX with DIGU, the radio will key and the audio is transmitted, but not with USB. The real question is does SmartSDR or the 6400M limit transmission by frequency and mode? Or, do I have a problem somewhere? Using the FHM2 mic, I can transmit anywhere in any mode.

using USB or DAX do you have the DAX button ON in the "P/CW" panel?
If so the MIC audio will not transmit out of the radio if that is how you have it hooked up.
Are you using a external interface for the RTTY? Looks like you are as you stated TU.
If this is the case then you probably need to turn OFF the DAX button in the P/CW Panel.
HOW ARE YOU feeding audio to the radio MIC IN, ACC IN, Line IN? if one of these various Input sources make sure to have it selected and the DAX Button OFF.
Difference between DIGIU and USB is that DIGIU get's ride of all the MIC audio processing like Processor, TX EQ, and gives you a lot nicer input and output of Audio and TX and RX BW then with the USB for the Digital modes, There is really no other differences that I can remember.
Kinda hard to follow what you where describing so not sure this is helpful or not but there you go

Bret,
Yeah, it is kind of hard to follow. My TU (HAL CWR-6850) is connected to a USB sound device to my PC. The USB sound device connects to either DAX or PC input to SmartSDR through "Soundmeeter Potato" software mixer on my PC. This part of the setup works fine for regular RTTY 45 baud 170 Hz shift RTTY mode using PTT key (either PTT port or AUX connector PTT input). Only if I go to DIGU or USB modes, the PTT will key the radio, but no audio gets transmitted.

update: It will key OK using a CAT port. Maybe that's the solution?0 -
Check your transmit audio passband to ensure it’s wide enough for your desired tones, and a little extra.0
