Flex 5000 and HP Elitebook 2540P laptop

I consider using my HP Elitebook 2540P with my Flex 5000. This laptop has a small Firewire 800 socket while the radio requires Firewire 400. There are Firewire cables with different Firewire plugs on each end ( Firewire400 and 800) will the radio work properly when connected this way?

Tom, the Flex firewire compatibility depends on the firewire chip in your notebook.
A firewire cable with the small connector usually works.
On my Sony VAIO I7 notebook I get a lot of latency and dropouts, on my GETAT S400 I5 notebook
all works fine, no problems. Best is a firewire chip from Texas Instruments.
