Charles, Mack is correct. I have found good reason to add a Ethernet switch on the router then connect your computer, radio, and any other associated devices to the switch. This has several benefits. First the data passes directly between your computer and radio with 1 or 2 mseconds of latency. Second if your router drops out or reboots your radio will not get dropped from your computer. This architecture was recommended by tech support when I was trying to reduce latency issues. My laptop running WiFi still communicates through the router to the Ethernet switch just fine for local remote. 73 Bill W9JJB
