Mirroring of radio and SmartSDR for Win

Can anyone tell me if the new software version 3.1.7 (SmartSDR for Windows along with the Flex 6400M 3.1.7 update) allows for mirroring the radio and SmartSDR? In other words, allow control of SmartSDR for Windows using the radio knobs? I read it was possible with Maestro but is it possible with the 6400M?

Take a look at the SmartControl video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64GvtLSF9Ik.  You can also read about it in the Maestro and M Model docs available on our website.

Now that's just plain cool. Thanks for the info Eric. Now I have an even bigger reason to jump to ver3. Finally going to change from win 7 to 10. Picked up a win 10 machine I have yet to set up so EVERYTHING will be a fresh install. New pc, new amp and now ver3.

Okay, I just enabled SmartControl on my 6400M and it does a fine job of controlling SSDR, but I don't believe (although I could be wrong) that's what Scott was asking.  In the 2.X versions, the SSDR and M series radio controls were synced together.  In 3.X there doesn't seem to be a way to have both the M panel and SSDR mirror each other, and SmartControl doesn't seem to be the solution, or am I missing something?

It does not mirror! It does allow to use knobs and buttons on Maestro to control SSDR on your screen.
If you want mirroring - use Stacks3 - Sync Radio clients

OK so how do I get it to allow the knobs and buttons to control the SSDR on the screen? Is there a setting I am missing?

This is covered extensively in your Maestro or 6400M/6600M User Guides which are available for download on the FlexRadio.com website.

It is Section 9 in the Maestro User Guide,
It is Section 11 in the 6400M / 6600M User Guide.

    No problem Dennis.
While I found that Stacks3 makes mirroring very efficient, I also found that that I cannot use this mirroring during contests. When many signals are on the band my audio starting stattering during VFO moves and it is hard to work that way, so, I shut it down and typically work with Maestro only.
It is not an issue on the daily dx chaising.

New FlexSmart Control mode is a half way of mirroring.
However, last night I found that with Smart Control, besides all buttons and knobs usage on Maestro, I can have Maestro open with all control needed right in front of me - actually like it. I wish Smart Control text would not be visible through that window, but it is not too bad

I figured it out. You have to switch radios. Now I see I don't have enough PC memory top run SmartSDR anyway lol.

I can't see any reason why this SmartControl Mode screen need to be visibel all the time? It's very very annoying to have the screen covered with this cr .. I like to be able to see the Maestro as I'm used to see it. At least without having to see it through other menus as on Sergeys pictures.

If this is SCM Version 1 .. I really like to see V2 with full mirroring and the awful screen covering my Maestro gone in a short while.

I would agree with you Johan. If Stacks3 can make mirroring working, I do not see why Flex would not implement it. Also, I would add my voice to make this SCM window not visible when other screens are open, it is just disctruction. Sergey, KN7K
