Need help on CW Skimmer install

After a few days of struggling, I'm no closer to getting CW Skimmer to work with SDR Bridge or SliceMaster on my desktop.  With SliceMaster the actions start then there is a comment "Connecting to telnet port Slice A port 7301" followed by "Lost connection with CW Skimmer Slice A.

Any suggestions on finding help?  Many of the online sources are somewhat dated and often refer to a different version of the software.

Thanks

When having issues with CW Skimmer, always bring up Windows Task Manager and look for hung skimmer.exe processes. More often than not, if I'm having issues it's due to a hung skimmer process.

Make sure your firewall is OFF when testing to rule it out as a source of headaches (and add an Allow rule as needed).

Personally, I prefer SDR Bridge which works fairly reliably.

Below are screenshots of my working config with SDR-Bridge:

Be sure that DAX is turned on for the slice you are monitoring and ensure in the DAX Control Panel to enable DAX IQ at the proper sampling rate to match; e.g., 48 KHz, 96 Khz.

    Wayne,

Most of us use SDR Bridge by W2RF. A great program that makes setting up CW Skimmer easy.

Here's updated screenshots (with SDR-Bridge, DAX and Skimmer all actually running (the skimmer configs change when launched via SDR-Bridge)

Wow guys, I appreciate the thorough responses.  Rick, my settings are essentially the same as your (for example I have a different sound card than yours)  On SDR Bridge, I made sure that the port 7310 was the same (it was something different).  The best I can do with SDR Bridge is to get a set of bars closely together and growing to the left.  With Slice Master, the same setting were used, but I always get "Lost Slice A".  No simultaneous runs of CWSk and tried with firewall on/off.
    Burned out now...try again tomorrow.
Oh, I do have CW Skimmer running with Slicemaster on a laptop, but I won't be using it on the laptop.
    Thanks

    Wayne,

If you are still interested in getting Slice Master to configure and launch CW Skimmer for you, send an email to the address shown when Slice Master starts up.  Please attach a copy of your Slice Master config folder.   Just navigate to

        C:Users<your user name>AppDataLocalK1DBO

then right-click on slice-master and select 'Send toCompressed (zipped) folder'.  This will create a zip file that you can then attach to your next email reply.  The logs from the zip should give me a pretty good idea of what's going on.
