Finally got the software to recognize the 6600 and presto.....the noise level without doing anything for adjustment on 20m was at least three S units better.  Voices clear and a joy to listen to.  Everything appeared "smoother"  like a high end tube mike.  the waterfall/visual mega pan adapter was so easy to use to identify the stations.  The  icom 7300 was a step in the right direction as was the 7610.  But having a 7300 and using the 7610 now gives me a great reference point.  Taking it to the living room to DX during commercials on my ipad tonight also makes the XYL impressed that I'm "watching" TV with her.

Our club purchased an IC-7610. When it came time for me to replace my 6300, the use of the 7610 convinced me to buy a 6600, and haven't regretted it for a second. You are gonna love it, Bert.
