The Blue Flash when turning on PS

When I first turn on my cheap MFJ switching power supply, even though my Flex6400 is off there's a quick blue flash on the front panel (where the blue wavy Flex logo is). Has anyone else seen this?

Ron, when your radio gets power there are components coming alive before you switch the radio on.

Yes, every time. I believe it is normal according to Bill's post.

Ron - My suggestion would be to try another power supply, perhaps a linear supply with sufficient voltage regulation and current capability and see if you get the same results.

As for the power up colors.  Tim describes them here:  https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio/topics/what_are_the_fex_6000_front_panel_led_indications

Yes, I think this is normal as everyone sees the same thing. Also when you turn off your power supply and the voltage drops, you also get a red light even with the radio powered down.. I turn off my PS when I am done with radios, as I have 6 radios on the PS, including some cooling fans.. None of my other radios flash lights or do anything, just the Flex.. But since everyone with a 6600M or 6400M experiences this, and Flex has made no negative comments about this, one just needs to accept this and move on.

The reason is because the FLEX is always listening for a connection as long as it has power, This is by design other wise remote power on/off wouldn't work and when your running over the Ethernet cable because it IS A RADIO SERVER not a normal Radio as your other rigs probably are.
