Losing connection when trying to tune or transmit

When I click "Tune" I loose connection to the PC immediately.  My 6700 front panel color code goes from solid blue to solid red.  I have a 6700 with 2.4.9.115 and very little experience.  I updated the software earlier today and changed the Cat5 cable.  My laptop is an HP Envy.  I also do not receive any sound on the laptop but there is audio on the headset.  Any suggestion are welcome.  I am trying to get the 6700 ready for the Museum Ships OTA event next week.

Some hams have reported RFI in similar situations. Would be less expected at the lowest power settings though. The red led is your radio going into transmit. Are you directly patching or using a router? 73 Steve K9ZW

Is your PC Audio selected at the top next to the volume sliders. If so check that your PC audio is selected to PC not a Dax.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
