Multiple Smart SDR Smartlink Accounts
First - V3 loaded - easy - working great - IOS & Windows remote, local and Maestro, single and MultiFlex.
Next the question .......
I am associated with 3 local radio clubs, plus some more distant ones and often do presentations for them.
This question may have been raised before but I could not find a recent relevant instance.
I can setup and operate with remote, but I am using my callsign and account but do not want to give out to the entire membership my details and then have them all logging into my home 6400 !
As I also hold the club callsign, can I have a separate instance that can be enabled or disabled ? This way I can demonstrate and show what is available and offer them the ability to log in and try the system - but when I want the radio for ME - I can limit it to my login only, what I need is a demonstration account that can be put into a "Standby Mode"
I can also see the benefit of having a Flex in the club shack for the membership to access and operate - but we need to prove the concept first !
Many thanks

Yes, you can create a second SmartLink account. Dave wo2x0

Can some one elaborate how one could do this? Especially putting the second account into a "standby" mode.
Jim, K6QE0 -
Hi Jim
For SmartSDR click on settings then click on Choose Radio. Click to disconnect from the radio.
Now at the radio chooser window click on your SmartLink name near top of window. Click log off.
Now click log on. In the Login window click Sign Up and create a new account.
This only needs to be done once to create the second account.
To switch the radio between SmartLink accounts from the Radio Chooser window click on SmartLink Settings. Click to deregister the radio (it will require a local PTT or CW key closure). Once deregistered click Register and when prompted enter the new SmartLink account info.
Might be worth putting a video of this together. I’ll try to do this tonight. The procedure for Maestro and SmartSDR for IOS is similar.

Thank you very much! I am sure quite a few will want to do this and it is worth gaining some proficiency in switching between accounts.1 -
Mike Walker is going to do a video showing step by step how to do this. Dave wo2x0

That seems this could be an obvious segue for Flex to have a table of accounts and it could be checked or unchecked to easily determine who and who cannot access the radio and any particular time.

Right now 3.0 only accepts having the radio on one account at a time. Whomever has the email and password can access the radio. Dave wo2x0

That's why I suggested it.

Is there a concept of a "quest" account that is separate and distinct from your own account? This way you can give out the quest account credentials to your club or to a friend for a period of time. Just like we have quest wi-fi logins in our home. Then you can grant access but limit and control functional privileges for quest account separately and also periodically change password for security. dan1
