PTT input serves double duty as straight key input in CW mode?

I love my new Flex-6400, and have "broken out" the I/O's from the DB-15 so I can get access to the non-keyer supported "key" input. I wonder why the RCA PTT input can't do double duty in CW mode as a straight key input. The user could just attach a "Y" cable to his/her straight key and foot switch. Russ KD4JO

That's the way my TenTec rigs worked, and it wouldn't require switching the keying mode in software then to make that work.   I vote YEA!

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
