Smartlink says connected when it's not - just one PC

When I start SmartSDR 2.4.9 (Windows 10) with one particular PC (the one I use most often) via Smartlink, SmartSDR will not connect, while DAX and CAT connect automatically as normal. The Smartlink SDR window
says "in use" but I cannot "disconnect user" as the SmartSDR application program seems to hang at this point. See screen shot.
From a PC at the remote transmitter site, or from another PC on the same home network as the problem PC, everything works normally.
It is not the same problem as the https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio/topics/cannot-disconnect-user thread.
Has anyone else encountered this? Do I have to uninstall and reinstall Smart SDR?
