Have you selected “ mic” . I have found that even with it selected, sometimes the radio doesn’t see it. My solution is to choose any other profile, then go back to the first one $ it then works.

When I use my ipad or iphone and then return to "normal" ops the last used iOS device is the selected microphone input in the SMartSDR software.  I have to manually change the mike back to the BAL input.

Create a separate profile for normal use or remote via iPad/iPhone. I do it since I typically use a slightly narrower filter on ssb when using my Bluetooth earpiece with the iPhone. Dave wo2x

The use of multiple Mic Profiles is an important way to get maximum performance from your Flex. Each Mic Profile will store Mic input, mic levels, processor settings and status, tx bandwidth, tx EQ Settings, VOX, monitor, and DEXP Settings and more.

Using Mic Profiles you can have multiple setups for different mics, and contour each one for Rag-chew, DXing, Contesting, Weak signal, ESSB, etc.

You can also save a different set of Mic Profiles for use with each of your remote devices.

When you change devices, simply change Mic Profiles, and you should be ready to go.

Others incorporate this into a set of Global Profiles, that also store additional parameters, such as number of panadapter, slice frequencies and modes, and a host of other things. Then simply select “Remote iPad” or “Normal” Profiles, for instance.

    Hope this helps.
