In case you haven’t seen the 9/8/18 Flex Insider PG XL update, here it is:

 Dear Power Genius XL customers,

 In our last update we informed you of a problem discovered when operating the amplifier for extended periods at full power on 6 meters running FT8. We have corrected the problem, received and tested the first modified filter units and are pleased with the results. We expect to receive upgraded modules in about 2-3 weeks at which time we will begin updating all units currently in operation at customer sites. We estimate the upgrade process will take approximately 2-3 weeks once upgraded modules are received. Once field upgrades are completed we will resume production shipments.

 The good news is that a significant number of customers have been using their Power Genius XL daily on the other bands and tell us they are very pleased with its operation. 

Once again we would like to express our sincere appreciation for your patience as we work diligently to get Power Genius XL ready for production delivery. The factory is preparing to ramp up production as soon as the field upgrades are completed. We will send another status update once we are well into the process of upgrading the units from the field.

FRS can you give us an estimate of how long it will be before the PG-XL pre-orders get filled?  (Orders submitted prior to Jan 1, 2018.)

Power Genius XL Update


Dear Power Genius XL customers,


Since my last update on September 8th, we have begun upgrading all previously shipped customer units, and expect to complete this process by the end of October. 

Each amplifier is being tested at 1,500 Watts key down for 5 minutes on multiple bands prior to shipment with excellent results. This means that you will be able to operate the amplifier at full legal limit even in the most strenuous operating conditions such as FT8 and RTTY contesting, with no power back off.

Ranko and I are very grateful for the hard work of the FlexRadio and SKY SAT (4O3A) development teams, and in particular Graham Haddock (KE9H) and Dan Quigley (N7HQ) for their expertise, contributions and leadership in bringing the Power Genius XL product to market readiness.

As we finalize upgrades of current customer units, we will begin contacting pre-order customers to confirm shipping information and complete payment.

@WQ2H Reason is FRS has considered the Insider as an “opt in” communication. Pretty certain you can simply contact FRS asking to be added. Those on the waiting list may have received an invite along the way, though I think mine was filtered. 73 Steve K9ZW

Has there been any progress, updates, info etc...regarding the PG-XL tuner that’s supposed to come with the amp when purchased or reserved early on?
