Problem Recording WAV Files with Flex 6600M

I am trying to record some new WAV Files to use with N1MM+ and my 6600M for SSB Contesting.  I have tried for many, many hours to use the "Record on the Fly" function in N1MM+ and just cannot get it to work.  I can play existing WAV files through N1MM+ and that works fine.  I have everything configured as per the following the document:

So, I thought I would try to record them with Audacity and I can't get that to work either.  For microphone, I select DAX Mic Audio as the recording device.  When I speak into my Heil headset connected to my 6600M (with foot switch pressed), I see the MIC Stream on the DAX Control Panel modulating with my voice.  However, Audacity is not picking up my voice at all.  If I switch to a local microphone in Audacity, it works fine.

What am I missing?  I thought that the DAX Mic Audio would look just like any other microphone to N1MM+ and Audacity.
