Have a 0.5dB NF preamp with SMA connectors
Can I configure Flex6600M without the need of an
External Switch Box ( i.e. DXE RTR1-A)

The analysis above by mikeatthebeach can be misleading since it does not consider the galactic noise which is the dominant noise at 6 meters. I measured the noise figure of my Flex 6600 on 6 meters with a calibrated noise source. This gave NF = 6dB. This is reasonably close to what mikeatthebeach calculated. However when I connect my horizontal 6 meter dipole to the 6600, the measured noise goes up by 30 dB. So even if the NF of the KX3 is better than the 6600, there will be no perceived difference in the received signal to noise ratio of these two great receivers because the galactic noise is so much larger than the receiver noise.

I was able to put a 6m preamp on the back of 6500 but 6600 does not the extra ports. paul, wa3qpx

Wish Flex could configure software to either configure Rx-In with an XVTR as the Rx-Out

Flex6600 in a 500Hz BW has a MDS of -137dBm Noise floor means a 10dF NF noise figure on 6meters

The KX3 in the same 500Hz BW has a MDS of -145dBm Noise Floor means a 2dB NF noise figure
    on 6 meters
